Gather with Wildtender and Mercado Sagrado for a guided hike, plant meditation and picnic on the Big Sur coast. Guided by herbal educator Kelsey Barrett (of Heavy Nettle), together we will ascend a trail up the Santa Lucia Mountains, stopping along the way to learn the names, stories, and edible and medicinal uses of Big Sur’s native plants. We will slow down to connect with ourselves and the interdependent community of beings of the Big Sur wild. Meditate on the land while enjoying a wild herb tea, absorb the fragrance of Summer chaparral, and sit amongst the trees while sampling wild foods.

When we reach the crest of the trail, we will share a communal picnic overlooking the Pacific Ocean, with lunch provided by Sproutcraft Creamery + Darkhorse Organic.

Registration for this program is through Mercado Sagrado.

Program Cost $85.

  • Instruction on natural history, deep nature connection, medicinal and edible uses of native plants, and wild-tending philosophy

  • A sampling of wild food & medicine of Big Sur
