Camp out in the magical, remote Pine Valley camp, exploring inner and outer wilderness through nature-connecting day hikes and Gestalt-based awareness practices. Hike to the sublime Tassajara Zen Mountain Center for an overnight Zen experience.
Gather for a guided hike, plant meditation and picnic on the Big Sur coast. Guided by herbal educator Kelsey Barrett (of Heavy Nettle), together we will ascend a trail up the Santa Lucia Mountains, stopping along the way to learn the names, stories, and edible and medicinal uses of Big Sur’s native plants.
Gather for a Solstice exploration of Big Sur’s intertidal zone – where rocky pools and ragged shoreline hold secret stores of wild food and medicine revealed only by the ebbing tide. Learn to sustainably and ethically harvest, and prepare seaweeds for nourishment and healing, while supporting the tending and restoration of the dynamic kelp forest ecosystem.
In search of balance, the ancient sages of China walked into the woods to attune themselves with nature in its sublime integrity. The timeless wisdom uncovered in their wild wanderings was called simply Tao, “The Way.” Join us to learn an accessible form of Qi Gong – the practice at the heart of Taoism – while immersing in the majestic landscape of Big Sur.
